The Graz taxi rate was officially set on 1 janvier 2025. Taxi tariffs in Austria are officially set by cities or districts. The taxi tariff Graz was last set in janvier 2025 and published in the official tariff ordinance. It is binding for all taxis and taxi companies within the compulsory driving area and may not be exceeded or undercut. This is ensured by officially calibrated taximeters installed in the taxis.

How the fare is made up under the Graz taxi rate:

The taxi tariff of Graz clearly sets out how taxi rides are charged. When you start your journey, there is an initial base fare of €4.90. This base fare is applied at the beginning of every trip, regardless of the time or distance you travel.

During the day, from Monday to Saturday between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm, the cost per kilometer is €2.30 for the first 12 kilometers. If your trip is longer than 12 kilometers, each additional kilometer costs €2.80. At night, from Monday to Saturday between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am, as well as all day on Sunday, the cost per kilometer is €2.50 for the first 12 kilometers and €2.80 for each additional kilometer.

If the taxi is waiting, for example in heavy traffic or if you ask the driver to stop, there is a waiting time charge. This waiting time is charged at €34.00 per hour, and it applies at all times, both day and night.
