The Singapore taxi rate was officially set on 1 janvier 2024. Taxi tariffs in Singapore are officially set by cities or districts. The taxi tariff Singapore was last set in janvier 2024 and published in the official tariff ordinance. It is binding for all taxis and taxi companies within the compulsory driving area and may not be exceeded or undercut. This is ensured by officially calibrated taximeters installed in the taxis.

How the fare is made up under the Singapore taxi rate:

The taxi tariff of Singapur sets clear rules on how fares are calculated. Fares differ depending on the time of day, with separate rates for day and night. The day tariff is valid from 6:00 a.m. to midnight, while the night tariff applies from midnight until 6:00 in the morning.

During the day, the base fare for starting a taxi ride is S$2.30. For the first 10 kilometers, each kilometer is charged at S$0.65. For any distance travelled beyond 10 kilometers, the charge increases to S$0.74 per additional kilometer. There is no charge for waiting time during the ride, so passengers are not charged extra if the taxi stops due to traffic or at traffic lights.

At night, the base fare is S$2.88. The rate per kilometer for the first 10 kilometers is S$0.81. After the first 10 kilometers, each additional kilometer costs S$0.84. Similar to the daytime rate, there is no charge for waiting time during the night hours.

In addition to these charges, a fixed airport surcharge of S$5.00 applies if you travel to or from the airport. These clear steps help both passengers and drivers understand how the total fare is calculated under the Singapur taxi tariff.
