The Zagreb taxi rate was officially set on 1 janvier 2024. Taxi tariffs in Croatia are officially set by cities or districts. The taxi tariff Zagreb was last set in janvier 2024 and published in the official tariff ordinance. It is binding for all taxis and taxi companies within the compulsory driving area and may not be exceeded or undercut. This is ensured by officially calibrated taximeters installed in the taxis.

How the fare is made up under the Zagreb taxi rate:

The taxi tariff of Zagreb sets out how taxi fares are calculated to help passengers understand the cost of their ride. Every taxi journey in Zagreb starts with a fixed base fare of €2.60. This is the amount you pay as soon as you enter the taxi, regardless of your destination.

After the base fare, the fare increases by €1.75 for every kilometre you travel. The taximeter in the car will automatically calculate this as you continue on your journey. This rate applies to all distances, so you can expect a consistent cost per kilometre during your ride.

If the taxi has to wait for you during the trip, for example when stopping at traffic lights or waiting for you to return, there is a waiting time charge. The waiting fee is €8.90 per hour. The taxi meter will add this waiting time fee to your total fare if necessary.
